Oktoberfest, the internationally enjoyed German holiday, notorious for its food, drinks, and festivities, was celebrated by Pitt-Greensburg on Oct. 20, 2022. The event was sponsored by Phi Eta Sigma, the nation’s oldest honor society, and occurred on a cheerfully clear and chilly evening on the Chambers Hall lawn.

Numerous clubs hosted games, activities, and snacks, from the History Club’s throwing darts, to Phi Eta Sigma’s raffle baskets, to smores, ice cream floats, and hand-dipped caramel apples. Additionally, Valhalla Indoor Axe Throwing returned this year with their portable axe-throwing cage.

Chartwells Dining Services also provided German-themed food and beverage, including bratwursts and sauerkraut, pretzels, and potato pancakes.

If you missed the fall folk festival this year, fret not; Oktoberfest continues to be an annual campus tradition, and any future dates and information will be released via Pitt email.
