Stream Your Heart Out: “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”

Disney Plus has released another miniseries as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” follows Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in their chaotic adventures.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” takes place six months after Captain America gave up his persona and handed the mantle, his shield, over to Sam Wilson, fka Falcon. Wilson, at the start of the show, didn’t feel worthy enough for this placement. Wilson decided to give up the shield and the mantle of being Captain America’s replacement.
The government didn’t agree with his decision. They decided to find, train, and hire a new hero, to take the place of Steve Rogers. When Barnes found out, he was displeased with Wilson.
The duo, who were always at each other’s throats in previous films, have an interesting dynamic to watch. The slow journey of them becoming friends, because of their common goal, is very endearing.
The messes they put themselves into gives the writers a lot of freedom to develop the characters of Wilson and Barnes. Since they were always Rogers’ sidekicks, they did not get a lot of growth in the movies they starred in.
The series could go in many different directions, so I am very excited to see what they do with Barnes and Wilson. With the success of “WandaVision,” I have no doubt that Marvel and Disney know exactly what they are doing.
The first two episodes of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” are out on Disney Plus now. The episodes are full of the well-known Marvel action scenes, comedy, and heartfelt moments.
