Editorial: The Insider Goes Green!
by Kaylee Stinebiser
The Insider’s first issue of 2020 is here, and we’re glad to be back with the latest in news, entertainment, and sports to Pitt-Greensburg’s students, faculty, and staff.
I’m excited to announce some changes that are coming to your campus news source this year. For my last semester here, I’ll be overseeing The Insider’s transition to an online-only publication.
During a time when Pitt-Greensburg’s administration is actively searching for ways for our campus to “go green,” The Insider wants to do our part and minimize our environmental impact. Our website will be interactive and will regularly be updated with new content for all to enjoy. Our long-running columns will continue online, including the Side-by-Side, the Campus Close Up, Locally Listed, Science & Technology, and our stream reviews.
Volume 12, Issue 1 will be the last edition of The Insider that will be available in print. But keep an eye out for The Outsider, our annual April Fool’s Day edition, coming to you in print this April 1.
I’d like to encourage students, faculty, and staff to sign up for our (free!) email subscription list so that you’re always up-to-date with everything we have to offer you. You can also follow us on Twitter, @upginsider.
Our newspaper staff has opportunities for students with all types of talents and interests, including: news reporting, entertainment reviews, photography, ad-revenue generating and business management, and social media promotion. Any student who is interested in joining The Insider’s staff should reach out to us via email at upginsider@outlook.com.
As one of the many clubs that was affected by budget cuts this semester, The Insider is working hard to make sure that we continue to serve our campus as we always have. We encourage feedback from students and staff, including suggestions on what you would like to see from your campus newspaper in the future and concerns that you have about things that occur on campus. Contact us through our website or via email with any questions, comments, or concerns that you’d like to voice.
The Insider is proud to be Pitt-Greensburg’s student-run news source, and we’re excited to continue keeping everyone on campus updated on the things they need to know, especially our fellow students.
