The Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats took on Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, on Friday, February 6.

Freshman goaltender Thomas Clark started in net, with hopes of leading his team to their 21st win of the season.

Captain, Nico Vecchio netted the first goal of the night midway through the first period. Billy Dixon lit the lamp once and Anthony Maroadi scored twice to give the Bobcats a 4-0 lead at the end of the period.

SFU managed to sneak a goal past Clark to open the second.

A period of big hits followed. Dan Merz almost sent an opposing player into the Bobcats’ bench.

As a result of the hit, DJ Petrovay found the net and put the Bobcats up 5-1.

Dan Merz scored a power play goal and Garrett Woznichak took a slapper from the point to put the Bobcats up 7-1 at the end of the second.

Saint Francis took an early penalty to start the third, and Ryan Joyce capitalized for a power play goal.

Joyce scored again, along with Luc Tilley, Zachary Frantik and Petrovay, earning the Bobcats at 12-2 victory.

The Bobcats now hold a record of 21-2-0.

Senior night will take place on Friday, February 13, before the last regular season match of the year.

Playoffs will begin at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, February 27 at Center Ice Arena in Delmont.

The Bobcats hope that fans come out to support them on their quest for back-to-back championships.
