Students in the creative and professional writing capstone published their capstone projects—novels that range from illustrated scripts to fantasy novellas to poetry collections—and presented them at the annual capstone launch party on April 16. Check out the covers, Amazon links, and synopses below!

“The Tunnels Under St. Cecelia are Haunted” by Shannon Grace: Four young adults accidentally unleash a horde of ghosts and monsters onto their town when they explore the abandoned mining tunnels under St. Cecelia College. Wannabe ghost hunter Leila and skeptic friends Martha, Camile, and Wesley must find a way to get rid of the spirits terrorizing their town before they take over.

“The Art of Revealing” by Abigail Morrow: Discover a collection of poetry that gently invites you inward. This book weaves together thoughtful reflections, deeply human stories, and quiet moments of realization, capturing the beauty of what it means to feel, to question, and to grow. Each poem becomes a space where language uncovers what often goes unspoken—transforming inner thoughts into something tangible, honest, and moving.

“Communion of the Vagabond” by Joshua Palmiscno: Alitiro, like the rest of the Kadhasai people, has spent his entire life persecuted and oppressed by the ruling class in the desert city of Sel Khadar. Ever since the disappearance of his mother, each day is about surviving by any means necessary. But after realizing his ability to control mana, Alitiro will do whatever it takes to find her and bring her home, even if that means going up against the corrupt monarchy.

“The Daughter of an Addict” by Darrian Lynch: “The Daughter of an Addict” shows readers what it looks like and feels like to grow up with a father who struggles with addiction. In lines as sharp as razors, Lynch captures what addiction looks like from inside a family.

“Heavy is the Head (and other stories)” by Alissa Brown: Heavy is the Head (and other stories) is a collection of short stories that range from funny to heartbreaking. Each story follows colorful characters as they grapple with love, life, and everything in between.
