Join the Counseling Center Friday, April 19, for Stress Less Art Day. This event will take place at Millstein Library from 12-2:30 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to make spackle paintings, or textured art, for a chance to decompress on the last day of class before finals week.

Gayle Pamerleau, director of counseling, explained the reason why the counseling center is hosting an event like this.

“The goal of Friday’s specific activity is to give students a chance to do something a little different and express their creativity,” said Pamerleau. “The goal of Stress Less Day is to give students an opportunity to do something creative and self-care related to help lower their stress level during the last week of classes as they prepare for finals week.”

Amanda MacMurtrie, the counseling intern and host of this event, explained what inspired her to hold this activity.

“I wanted a fun finale to our Wellness Week that gave students a chance to get messy and have fun to take the pressure off before finals,” MacMurtrie said.

Come by the library this Friday to destress with some art before finals week begins.

If weather does not permit for an outdoor event, an email will be sent out with the new location.
