Phi Eta Sigma Hosts Annual Oktoberfest
by Bailey Weber
Pitt-Greensburg’s chapter of Phi Eta Sigma hosted its third annual Oktoberfest on Oct. 26 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hempfield Room. Many events were co-sponsored by other clubs, such as the cornhole tournament managed by the Criminal Justice Club, axe-throwing sponsored by the Outdoor Adventure and Community Service (OACS) club, and pumpkin painting with the Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Other activities included Jenga, Hammerschlagen, and a reenactment of Clusterchuck.
All events, activities, food, and drinks at Oktoberfest were free for students. The event was originally scheduled to be held on Chambers Lawn from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
There was a variety of free food and drinks available at the event, such as kegged root beer, bratwurst, pretzels, strudel, and potato salad. Phi Eta Sigma offered students free apple cider at their table during the event. OACS sponsored axe-throwing for the event, which was held outside of Chambers Hall.
