“Addams Family” Animation Falls Short of Expectations
by Gillian Detesta
There are absolutely, positively, no other words I can use to describe the new “The Addams Family” movie other than horrendous.
Let me start out by saying that I am and always have been a huge fan of “The Addams Family,” so when I first heard that an animated version was coming out, I was beyond excited.
Then I saw the trailer.
I was almost instantly turned off by the movie. I didn’t like the animation style as soon as I saw it.
Then, Fester opened his mouth and let out one of the worst voices I’d ever heard in my life. Fester has no teeth, so he has a lisp. I get it, but the combo of the lisp on top of his harsh, loud voice was just too much for me.
Even after not really enjoying the trailer, I decided to see this movie. I didn’t have high hopes for it, but after all, it is still “The Addams Family,” and my friend wanted to go.
I shouldn’t of gone.
It was probably one of the worst 1 hour and 45 minutes I’ve ever had.
The overall plot was pointless. The main conflict didn’t pick up until over halfway through the movie, and the whole problem was solved within 3 minutes.
I’m not joking.
This movie was a flop, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
As sad as it is to say, this movie was a subpar two out of five stars for me.
