Senior Sports Highlight: Bobcat Baseball
by Kate Andrews
While the Pirates ended their season at the beginning of this month, our fellow Bobcats went into the first week of October, scrimmaging against local teams as a preview of the spring season ahead.
“I’m excited for spring,” says senior Michael Spadafore when I sat down with him on October 2, 2017.
The Bobcats, coached by second-year hire Scott Adams, kicked off their fall ball season on Sept. 17, 2017, playing intersquad games every Saturday and practicing Sunday. To end the short-lived season, the boys had a scrimmage against Garret Community College and Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
“I’ve been really impressed with the freshmen and transfers so far. The first-year players are mostly pitchers, and that’s what we desperately needed this year,” says Spadafore, “I can’t wait to see how our fall games go.”
Come out and support your Bobcats this spring!*
