In case you haven’t already noticed, parts of our campus have recently undergone significant changes. The Coffee House, at Village Hall, and the Wagner Dining Hall have both received exciting renovations. The dining hall now contains a convenient little kiosk called “The Shop @ Wagner.” Designed with those in a hurry in mind, the shop contains a wide selection of candy, drinks, and treats for students. For those of us needing a quick caffeine fix, there is also a very convenient automated Starbucks brewing machine. Simply select your favorite Starbucks drink from the menu and push “brew.” It’s that easy.
If you’re in the mood for something handcrafted, and have a little bit of time on your hands, then stop by Village Hall and check out the renewed Coffee House, now proudly serving Starbucks Coffee. The Coffee-House’s hours are 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday, and 5:30 p.m. to midnight, Friday through Sunday. The staff working at the coffee house have been fully trained by Starbucks, so you can expect your drink to taste just as good on campus as it does at the nearest official Starbucks location. While you’re there, take a good look around and notice just how much the coffee house has changed.
I recently caught up with Andrew Ford, the Executive Chef at the Wagner Dining Hall, to find out what he thought of these new additions to the campus. He says that he and the staff are pleased with the way things have turned out and that he has noticed an increase in student activity in the dining hall, largely due to the availability of Starbucks Coffee in the new shop. The pre-bagged candy has also been a big draw. I also asked if there are any more restorations in store. I was told that there will be some changes taking place over the summer months, but the exact details of these changes are still being finalized, so it’s difficult to say for sure what new options you might see next year.
