“Yeah, cozy. Like Charlie XCX type.”

“I would say Lily Rose Depp, I love her. Gabrielle and then Troye Sivan, but like in drag. He looks really good.”

“‘Von Dutch’ by Charli XCX because it’s the same name as the brand. It’s like her unofficial merch.”

What are you officially over? What trend are you currently loving? 

“Leggings. Like, I’m sorry, I don’t know. They look cute with a nice boot up to the ankle. But It depends. I’m done with leggings right now.”

“I’m really liking baggy stuff. And it’s comfy, and then it’s winter. I’m not trying to show off right now. I’m not ready. It’s not summer yet.”

Your best style advice:

“I like sandwich fits.* People always hate on the sandwich, but, like, if you try to just throw something on quickly, but also look good, just do a sandwich fit because it’s easy and it looks good.”

“Dang, that’s hard. Yeah, those are the three words. Dang, that’s hard.”

“So, this is a band t-shirt that I got from a concert at my favorite local Pittsburgh venue, the Shred Shed. Shout out. It’s Uscos. It’s a punk band. And actually, the music kind of sucked, but I really like the shirt, so I got the shirt. My pants are from Target, and then I’m wearing Doc Martens. I actually usually wear a ton of jewelry, and I’m not wearing any today, so…”

What inspired this outfit today?

“Well, I just re-dyed my hair red, so I wanted to wear some red, and then… I don’t know. I wanted to wear my binder today, like a baggier shirt too.”

What or who are your overall style inspirations?

“I’m inspired by my dad, mostly because I got a lot of my clothes from him, actually. And then… I don’t really know. I just kind of… Whatever. I think I just have a shopping addiction, so…”

“I think ‘Bones of Ours’ by Max Madly, I think. It’s a little bit… Gothic? It’s not really punk. I don’t know. It’s kind of its own thing. I’ve never really heard anything like it.”

“I really love the low waist, baggy jeans. And big platform shoes.”

“I’m officially over… Athleisure, to be fully honest.  Like… Enough, please. I know you’re not going to the gym. But wear what’s comfortable, obviously. If it’s comfortable.”

“My best style advice? Um…  Don’t care about what your body looks like. Don’t dress in things that you don’t like just because you think it’s flattering or because somebody else told you it’s flattering. It doesn’t matter. Your body’s just a vessel, and your clothes are just decorations. Just wear whatever you want.”

“I’d say outgoing. I’d say happy. And also… I don’t really know how to explain it. I kind of just go with the flow, like a chill type.”

All-star pants – thrifted 

North Face slippers – gift from aunt for Christmas.

What inspired this outfit today?

“Honestly, it’s a comfy fit. It’s kind of warm out, and the pants are super light, super breathable, so I’m not over-sweating walking to class. I walk to Powers every day. Those stairs make me sweat.”

What or who are your overall style inspirations?

“I’d say Instagram. A lot of my stuff, I get inspiration from Instagram. Sometimes Depop, which is that new, old or used clothes-selling place. And honestly, one of my roommates, he’s also into fashion, so some of that stuff I’ll kind of get from him.”

What song matches this outfit?

“I’d say ‘Shining Star’ by Earth, Wind & Fire. That song is very upbeat. It’s like a ‘You’re the man, You’re the woman, You be happy about that’ kind of song. And I don’t know, I feel like I look good in this fit.”

What trend are you currently loving? What are you officially over?

“I’d say the trend is bagginess. I’ve recently gotten really into baggy clothes and stuff like that.

“And something I kind of got over was the kind of athletic look with the really tight joggers around the ankles. I used to be into that, but it’s just not my thing anymore.”

“Do what you want. It’s you, ultimately, in the end. You can get some inspiration from Instagram and stuff, but it’s you in the end.”
