by Darrian Lynch
On Wednesday, January 28, the new season of School Spirits was released on Paramount+. The show follows Maddie, played by Peyton List, on her journey to figure out how she ended up in a ghost world. She’s joined by her new ghost friends, including Wally, played by Milo Manheim, as they are all trapped in their high school, which was also where their deaths took place. The show originally premiered on March 9, 2023, and has slowly gained popularity since.
If you love supernatural elements and mystery, with a hint of teenage melodrama, then you will love this show. There are constant plot twists every few episodes that keep the watchers hooked as well. The show does a good job with visual effects and character development. The acting is strong, as well as the many visual effects. These elements increase the effectiveness of the show, which is finding out why Maddie is trapped in the ghost world, even though she never really died. Her new friends have committed to helping her get back into the living world.
I had a hard time getting myself to watch the show at first. It was something my mom and sister started together. I would see clips of it if I passed through the living room, but that was the extent of it. Slowly, I started to linger to see what was happening. I now highly enjoy the show and was very excited to watch the new season. I would highly recommend this show to everyone as an escape from their long days of classes and studying.
