The Revenant Entity Paranormal Society (REPS) will be on campus Friday, Oct. 3, beginning at 7 p.m. to offer their annual paranormal tour. This year, the REPS investigators will be hosting a walk-through of Rossetti House to discuss the building’s history and paranormal lore.

Jason Iampietro, REPS investigator, says this year’s tour will be especially interactive for those participants who’ve signed up.

“This year we plan to incorporate more history from past people and events at the Rossetti House,” Iampietro says. “We’re going to have all kinds of different equipment set up. Students will get to participate with us in the investigation, as well as learn about different historical points within the house itself.”

Participants will meet in groups and will be led by a tour guide. The tour will make different stops throughout the house.

While Iampietro doesn’t want to give too much away, he did offer some hints.

“The second investigation room is going to be really interesting for everybody because we have had a lot of activity there,” Iampietro says.

REPS did a preliminary visit to Rossetti House in July. Nina Gonzales, another investigator, says that visit was fruitful.

“We experienced quite a few different things. We had a lot of our equipment responding,” Gonzales says. “We always try to double-check equipment that’s responding. We try to ask the same questions multiple times. We were actually surprised that we had a lot of intelligent responses–the same responses, with repetition. We were clearly speaking to somebody that was not in the room.”

That person, Gonzales says, has a deep connection to Rossetti House.

“There’s one overwhelming spirit who was a prior owner to the property that we think is going to be a big highlight throughout the tour,” Gonzales says. “It’s very clear that she held this property dear and that she still does today.”

Iampietro says that in addition to seeking out the source of paranormal activity at Pitt-Greensburg, REPS has another larger goal.

“We want to make this campus’s history come alive,” Iampietro says. “We’re not here so much to tell stories, but to awaken the rich history and mysteries that slumber within these halls. We want to give the students and staff a way to view this school in new ways with respect to past events–especially in regard to the paranormal world that’s involved there.”

The REPS tour is currently full. Contact Al Thiel, director of The Student Center and Student Involvement, at ajt58@pitt.edu  if you’d like to be on a waiting list in case spots open.
