On March 24, 2025, Pitt-Greensburg’s very own Multicultural Student Coalition hosted a brand-new event on campus: Squid Games, based on the Netflix series. The event was held in Chambers Gym, free for anyone to join for the sweet reward of $100. This lauded award brought many in.
“I really wanted the $100, but I didn’t expect what was going to happen,” one student said when asked about the event.
Most thought it would be a fun mock event based on the show, not expecting the outcome.
“I was a little concerned once they asked us to sign waivers,” the winner of the game said, when asked about what he had experienced.
To everyone’s surprise the event was more than based on the famous “Squid Games” show. It was built identical to it. Students competed in dangerous games like Red Light, Green Light.
“I was lucky to win,” the winner and sole survivor of the games said. “I’ll use the $100 for my first therapy session.”
