The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will have a live bobcat on display at their graduation ceremony to honor their mascot, Bruiser the Bobcat.
The bobcat, named Bobby, will be brought to the school by the Pittsburgh Zoo. The zoo has formed a partnership with the school and plans to bring Bobby to future events.
Zoo representative, Joe Exotic, said, “I am so glad we are partnering with Pitt-Greensburg. I think this partnership will be a great way to socialize Bobby. He’s a sweet guy, but people are often scared of him. Breaks my heart.”
Bobby will be there for the entire ceremony. He will watch the graduates, and after the ceremony, he will do a meet-and-greet.
The meet-and-greet is free, but Bobby will be accepting donations for the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Bruiser Bobcat said, “I am so excited to become friends with Bobby. The students at Pitt-Greensburg are great friends, but they don’t always get me.”
