As the seasons transition from winter to spring and we say goodbye to negative temperatures, The Insider asked some students what their favorite outdoor activities are.
Alexis Osborne, Creative and Professional Writing, Senior
Alexis enjoys walking while listening to music outside. “It’s very peaceful and it has a way of bringing serotonin to me.”
Kai Mclaughlin, Psychology, Sophomore
Kai likes lounging in their outdoor hammock while reading a good book because they find it relaxing. They also like walking their best friend’s dog, Roux (pictured below).

Dev Yano, English Literature and History, Senior
Dev likes going out and seeing all the Easter decorations because it showcases “realizing that spring is really here.” He also enjoys walking on the park paths because it’s a way to get outdoors without dealing with the mud.
Maya Naponic, Early Childhood Education, Junior
Maya likes going on walks with her three dogs Maggie, Murphy, and Cooper. Two of the dogs are double doodles and one is a golden doodle. “I just love them,” she says in response to why this is something she enjoys.
Faith Boyle, Biology, Junior
Faith enjoys reading outside, because the added environment brings together two things she likes. “Adding in the sun and enjoying the outdoors while doing a hobby I like is great.”
Brennen and his partner, Auradeva Nyer
Brennen Marsh, English Literature with Film Studies and Education, Senior
Brennen enjoys going outside for walks with his partner. “It’s calm and tranquil and I feel at peace.”
