Scott Adams, head coach of the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team, has been coaching since 2006 and at Pitt-Greensburg since 2013. He recently participated in an interview with The Insider to discuss the Bobcats’ upcoming 2025 season.

To recap, the Bobcats finished eighth in the AMCC last season with a record of 11–25–1 (wins, losses, ties) under Adams’ guidance.

The Insider: How did you and your team prepare both physically and mentally for the upcoming season?

Coach Adams: We’ve been practicing since January, twice a day. It’s a process. It takes a little while to get ramped up and really back into things. We’re kind of hitting our stride now at about two weeks out (referring to the season opener on Feb. 25 at Washington and Jefferson College).

The Insider: How does your team handle game-day nerves and pressure?

Coach Adams: We treat it like another day. The less emphasis we put on it, the easier it is to play.

The Insider: How do you play to grow and improve this year?

Coach Adams: We were pretty young last year. Two seniors graduated last year and three more will graduate this year. We don’t mind young guys playing but you need experience and we got that experience last year, hopefully, going through the ups and down. The guys will learn from it. The growth, you only get that in games and we’re a really tight knit group right now.

The Insider: What goals do you have for the team this year, beyond just winning?

Coach Adams: We want to see growth whether it’s on the field or in the classroom. We want to see the guys take a step forward.

The Bobcats open their season on Feb. 25 at Washington and Jefferson College.
