Water bottle company Owala announced two new bottles on Jan. 25 in San Antonio and on social media, following customer complaints. The FreeSip Tumbler and FreeSip Sway became available for purchase on Jan. 27. These new designs address two major issues consumers had with the original bottles.

Consumers complained that the bottles did not fit in cup holders and could not be locked when using the handle. Owala listened and fixed both issues with the new designs.

Owala’s website says, “Sway is the way. Why, you ask? Well, for one, I’ve got a big ol’ bucket handle that makes carrying drinks feel like a luxury, and I slide into cupholders like I was made for them (which I was)” about the new FreeSip Sway.

Both new designs are cup holder-compatible, feature a bucket handle, and have a lockable lid.

Owala has a large fan base, and this display of social listening has further solidified their success.

Narée Asherian, a TikTok influencer and brand advocate (@naree_asherian), said, “Social listening makes customers fiercely loyal to the brand, because of all the water bottle brands out there to choose from, this one in particular makes customers feel seen and heard” about the release.
The bottles are available in a variety of colors on owalalife.com. The FreeSip Sway comes in 30 oz and 40 oz, while the FreeSip Tumbler comes only in 40 oz. The 30 oz bottles are $34.99, and the 40 oz bottles are $44.99. Get yours before they sell out.
