Are you excited for the Easter holiday but feel that no one seems to be giving it the attention that it deserves? If so, you might just be pleased to know that the campus’ own Science Club is having an egg drop competition at the Millstein Library balcony at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
The Egg Drop is an annual event held by the Science Club during the spring semester. Club secretary, Justin Crookston, claimed that it has always been immensely popular with students.
“We do the egg drop every spring. It’s probably our biggest event of the semester,” Crookston said.
Each student, or group of students, who sign up for the competition will receive a kit that will contain what they need to construct their egg-protecting contraption.
“We’ll give everyone a kit, and it will have all kinds of different materials–and you can only use the materials in the kit to build a contraption to drop your egg in,” Crookston said.
Naturally, the winner of the competition will be determined by whose egg does not break when it falls — as a judgment of how well-built their contraption is. This can sometimes be an ambiguous area of deliberation, however, since most of the students typically end up with unbroken eggs.
