Join the Performing Arts Society on Friday, Feb. 16, for a scary good time at the Vampire Ball. This event takes place at Smith Hall Lounge from 7-9 p.m. There will be music, dancing, food, and Valentine-making.

Since a vampire-themed party in the middle of February seemed out of place, Shianne Steck, president of the PAS, shed some light on the process of creating the event.

“We thought it would be a different combination, something you don’t usually see around this time of year,” said Steck. “Plus, I feel like vampires tend to be associated with romance. It’s a fun way to do something spooky if you missed the Halloween events on campus in the fall, or if you’re really interested in spooky stuff. It’s also a nice opportunity for people who maybe didn’t get to dress up and go out on Valentine’s Day to celebrate.”

This event is a way to get the whole Pitt-Greensburg community involved.

“Overall, we’re a pretty small club and wanted to think of new ways and events to involve the rest of the campus, not just those who are interested in the arts, in hopes that this event will entice people to come to future events,” Steck said.

Mark the date and make sure to dress your best for the Vampire Ball this Friday.
