Pitt-Greensburg students will have the opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day by attending an event dedicated to helping students develop and maintain healthy relationships.
The “Healthy Hearts” event, sponsored by the office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, will take place on Feb. 14 at the Hempfield Room inside of Chambers Hall.
Roland Woods, the assistant dean of students and director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Pitt-Greensburg, recommends attending this event for both couples and singles.
“It will demonstrate that there are expectations in committed relationships, and also for those who do not have a partner right now, the expectations of a relationship,” said Woods.
Gayle Pamerleau, the director of counseling, believes that this event will also help couples better contribute to the health and well-being of campus.
“If students learn how to communicate better and avoid conflict, that carries over into other interactions too. If students learn to recognize indicators of a healthy and unhealthy relationship, they may be able to help others recognize those indicators,” said Pamerleau.
The event will occur from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
