After a few years on hiatus due to the pandemic, the Visual Arts Society is officially back.
Jonah Broom-Morse, president of the Visual Arts Society, is looking forward to the club coming back to campus again.
“Since we are just starting the club back up after a few years of inactivity, we haven’t gotten to do much yet this year,” Broom-Morse said, “but in previous years, there have been craft events hosted through our club, visits to museums and galleries in the area, studying and observing local artists’ practices, and just talking about art in all forms and providing a safe space for people interested in the arts.”
The VAS is open to anyone who is interested in art, not just artists themselves.
“If anyone is interested in joining but isn’t sure, I want to let them know that VAS is a safe space for everyone who appreciates art, or who makes art, or who studies art in any form, not just painting and drawing.” Broom-Morse said. “At the end of the day, the goal of this club is to be a haven for artistic people, and show that art is for everyone, not just a small group of people.”
