The University of Pittsburgh Panthers Football team’s season came to an end following a 30-19 loss to the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, Nov. 25. This loss concluded a 3-9 season for the team, the worst season for Pitt Football since 1998, when the team finished 2-9.
Despite Pitt’s poor performance on the field this season, Pitt-Greensburg students still found ways to connect with the main campus and enjoy being part of “The Panther Pitt” student section.
Students were provided free transportation to the games via bus rides organized by Senior Sarah Luffy.
“It was free, safe transportation,” Luffy said. “No stress about parking your car.”
Freshman Ezra Fisher took advantage of the bus rides and was a regular in the student section at games this season.
“Being around a bunch of people interested in the game is always fun, and meeting new people,” Fisher said.
As for how he believes the team can improve from their 3-9 record from this past season, Fisher made a suggestion for the coaching staff.
“Find stability in the quarterback position. We had three different quarterbacks this past season,” Fisher said.
Luffy wants to encourage Pitt-Greensburg students to remember the bus-ride option for Pitt’s next season.
“It’s easy, so utilize it,” Luffy said.
The Pitt Panthers will now begin the off-season, and prepare for what hopes to be a better 2024 season.
