As the months get colder and finals approach, there is a fair share of stress on campus. However, Pitt-Greensburg’s men’s basketball team is seeking to bring campus some excitement.
The team was projected to finish seventh place in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) for the upcoming season.
Sophomores Jackson Byer, Ben Thomas, and Trent Rozich have large expectations for the season.
“We want to make the playoffs,” Thomas said.
The team is excited to know what their strengths and weaknesses are, as they have the opportunity to find out on Nov. 20 when they travel to Loretto, Pennsylvania, to match up against Saint Francis.
“Last year against Robert Morris showed us where we were at,” Thomas said. “We watched film and learned from those experiences.”
Through it all, the men understand the importance of this opportunity.
Senior Mikey Gaffney said, “It’s my last year. I want to enjoy every moment of it.”
The team begins play on Saturday in Grove City against Grove City College. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. for the contest. The home opener is on Wednesday, Nov. 15 against Hiram College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
