With the temperatures getting colder, and activities starting to move indoors, the start of a new women’s basketball season is upon us. The team has high hopes for the season, as they were picked to finish fourth in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) preseason poll.
Junior Melina Maietta is looking forward to this upcoming season.
“I am excited for the game against Penn State-Behrend. Very similar teams, it is the most competitive game and one of our biggest rivals,” Maietta says.
Freshman Tori Carr is excited for her first season in the Pitt-Greensburg blue and gold.
“There are no seniors, and so much chemistry already. I can’t wait to see what we have in store for the years to come,” Carr says.
The team opens up their season competing in the Washington and Jefferson Tip-Off Tournament with a game on Friday, Nov. 10 against Ohio Wesleyan University. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. The first home game of the season is Wednesday, Nov. 15 against Waynesburg, which is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
