If you are trying to find a Pitt-Greensburg sports team that finished last place during the 2022-2023 academic year and improved all the way to second place in the AMCC this academic year, look no further. The Pitt-Greensburg Golf team has done just that.
Head Coach Scott Adams said, “It’s a very exciting future for the program. They are a pretty young roster, and I am very excited for what is coming.”
An opportunity like this is what Adams has always wanted.
“I wanted the chance to build the program back up. I’ve always been a big fan of that kind of opportunity. It gives the guys the chance to have a great experience while they are here,” said Coach Adams.
The leadership of Coach Adams has definitely helped the golfers here at Pitt-Greensburg improve their game in many ways. The scores that golfers are earning are one of those ways.
Freshman Ashton Beighley and Sophomore Nick Thomas each had a high score of 76 this season. According to Coach Adams, the best score from this season was a 73 earned by Freshman Anthony Treonze.
Coach Adams was also part of the reason that Ashton chose to continue his golf career at Pitt-Greensburg.
“The campus and the coach, and I’m trying to get the program back to competing and winning,” said Beighley.
The golf team will now enjoy the winter off before getting back in the swing of the season this spring.
