Bookstore Celebrates Grads with Mardi Gras Party
by Jessica Stewart
Graduation is right around the corner, and the bookstore is a graduate’s “one-stop spot for all things graduation,” said bookstore manager Kathleen Fennell. Grad Central takes place in the bookstore on Tuesday, February 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the Mardi-Gras-themed extravaganza, graduates can purchase their caps and gowns ($31) and order graduation announcements and class rings. A Balfour representative will be in the bookstore from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with class ring information. The first 20 students to place an order will receive $25 off their purchase.
The festive event is to “celebrate graduates,” said Ronna Colland. Graduates are invited to come and enjoy the New Orleans jazz music, wear Mardi Gras beads, try to find the baby in the king cake, and enter to win prizes, like a grad basket, diploma frame, class ring, or three tickets to the parent appreciation dinner.
During the festivities, the bookstore will be having a 15%-off sale on all Pitt items, including clearance items and diploma frames.
Join the pre-graduation celebration and find all the Pitt items you need to help you commemorate this special occasion.
