BOO! Campus-wide Trick-or-Treat to be held across campus
by Alissa Brown
A campus-wide trick-or-treating event is set for this Thursday, Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
All of the residence halls and eight student organizations across campus will host stops where students can collect punches in their punch card. The cards can be entered into a raffle for one of three Halloween-themed prize baskets.
Ava Bell, junior criminal justice major, is organizing the event.
Bell says, “It’s great for students who can’t go off-campus or who just don’t have the opportunity to trick-or-treat anywhere else.”
Each station will have candy, and some will offer other activities like crafts and food-related theme events.
Campus-wide Trick-or-Treat began last year when Hunter Taylor, now a junior biology major, wanted to create an event where college students could partake in the fun of trick-or-treating.
“I feel that college is a true turning point in our lives where we leave our childhood behind,” Taylor says. “I wanted students to be able to feel the excitement of trick-or-treating again.”
Campus police will patrol the courts and the crosswalk to ensure students’ safety.
“I think it really helps get the campus together,” Bell says. “It’s really nice to see all these different groups of students walk around together.”
After trick-or-treating, students can visit Wagner Dining Hall, where a Halloween-themed Bingo will be held at 9 p.m.
Campus Trick-or-Treat is an event that aims to strengthen Pitt-Greensburg’s student community.
I feel that this event gives students a chance to visit their childhood again and get out around campus,” Taylor says. “I know trick-or-treating is one of my fondest memories from my childhood, and it even gives us a chance to dress up as characters that we are passionate about again.”
