Spring is coming soon, and that means it’s time for the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team to begin their season.

The Bobcats, who are picked to finish sixth, according to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) preseason poll, prepared for the season with workouts and conditioning since returning to campus from winter break.

Junior pitcher, Steven Muratore, believes that these workouts were very helpful for the Bobcats.

“They boost team camaraderie to set us up for the obstacles that we will face in the coming months,” said Muratore.

Despite those obstacles, the team has set the standard for this season high, according to Sophomore Hunter Gideons.

“Our goal is to win a championship,” said Gideons.

The team is currently 0-2, losing both games against Hood College in a doubleheader on Sunday. The next game is on Thursday, Feb. 29, against the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in Washington, Pennsylvania. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
