It’s the season of giving thanks. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned how being grateful for what you have is good for the soul. Especially in today’s world, where everything seems to be chaos nonstop. I always make sure to think about what I have in my life and lucky I am to have these things.

For instance, one of the things I’m most grateful for this season is my mom. I have no idea where I would be without her. She supports me in what I want to do and cheers the loudest for my accomplishments. She always makes sure to tell me how proud she is of me and reassures me when I overthink too much. She is my inspiration and I’m glad she is always by my side.

I’m grateful for my roommates. I can always count on Jocelyn to ask about my day and laugh at my jokes. I know Jill will listen to me, even if I talk about something 100 times. She always gives out the best advice and validates my feelings. Kelsey is the most intelligent person I know. She always helps me when I have a question and makes me laugh when I need it. These people are destined for great things, and I couldn’t imagine being roommates with anyone else.

I’m grateful for my best friend, Izzi. She has been by my side since high school. She always knows how to make me feel better when I’m having a bad day. She makes time to listen to me when I’m having a problem. Izzi is this bright ray of light that I need in my life and the greatest best friend I could have asked for. She’s the Rachel to my Monica.

I’m grateful for so much more. The life I have, family, beautiful weather days, and I can’t forget about iced coffee. But, this is just scratching the surface. During this stressful time of finals coming up, I make sure to take a step back and think of what I have.

Most importantly, I’m grateful for this role of being editor of this paper. It’s one of the best things to happen to me and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I’m grateful that professor Jakiela has trusted me with role and how welcoming she was when I first joined the staff. I get to connect with the campus and write about what I love. Plus, my staff is the greatest and always put in their hardest work every time. They are the best.

But lastly, thank you Pitt-Greensburg for reading. It is always a pleasure writing for you all. Happy Thanksgiving!
