Free flu shots are available here at the Pitt-Greensburg Health Center in 216 Chambers Hall, no insurance necessary. The flu clinics are set to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24 and Thursday, Oct. 26 from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.
If neither of those days work for you, Nurse Pam Freger, the Pitt-Greensburg nurse, wants students to know that other times can be made available.
“I’ll make it work for you, basically with the leftovers,” Nurse Pam said, “and if someone wouldn’t be able to make any of those Tuesdays or Thursdays, all they have to do is talk to me, I’ll make sure I give it to them at a time that works.”
Nurse Pam said that the flu cases in Pennsylvania are below low right now and now is the best time to get vaccinated.
“The biggest months for flu around here are December-February,” Nurse Pam said. “The end of October is the ideal time to get a flu shot, you want that good six months of coverage.”
Don’t let the flu leave you sick for this winter break and visit the Health Center for your annual flu shot.
“Take charge of your health,” Nurse Pam said. “We are going into a season now when we don’t know–is it Covid, is it the flu, or do you just have the common cold? You don’t want to be knocked down.
